This little parlor guitar has been waiting for its restoration for years.
The project was originally started by a friend of ours who got inspired by one of Tanya’s old restoration videos. But somewhere along the way, the project was abandoned, and the guitar ended up sitting unfinished for quite a while.
Eventually, I decided to take it on myself.
This turned out to be a much bigger restoration than a simple repair. I rebuilt the top with a new X-bracing pattern, repaired the damaged wood, made a new ebony fingerboard and bridge, added carbon fiber reinforcement to the neck, and made a custom brass saddle.
I also used the **Snapmaker U1** to make a custom clamping caul for the bridge. Since I designed the bridge myself for CNC machining, I could use its existing CAD model to create a perfectly fitting clamping solution.
This was also one of the last guitars I completed in our Kyiv workshop before we left Ukraine.
I’m really happy to finally share the whole restoration with you. Hope you enjoy watching it!
