The Fender American Professional Precision Bass takes more than seventy years of P Bass history and refines it for today’s players, combining the unmistakable sound and feel of a classic Precision Bass with thoughtful modern upgrades.
At the heart of this bass is Fender’s new V-Mod III split-coil Precision Bass pickup, delivering the deep, powerful low end, punchy midrange and unmistakable growl that have made the P Bass a cornerstone of countless recordings and performances. ClassicGear Precision potentiometers provide smooth, consistent volume and tone control, allowing players to dial in everything from warm, rounded vintage sounds to aggressive, articulate tones that cut through a mix.
The ash body is paired with a maple neck featuring a comfortable Modified 1963 “C” profile, rolled fingerboard edges and Fender’s Super-Natural satin finish. A 9.5″ radius fingerboard with 20 narrow-tall frets offers a familiar playing experience, while the sculpted neck heel provides improved access to the upper register. A HiMass Pro bridge, lightweight vintage-style tuners and bone nut complete an instrument designed for exceptional playability, tuning stability and sustain.
